Trufflepig Films are a small independent company. Our films are made a little like the old Hardy reels, one at a time. Revenue from The Lost World of Mr Hardy is ploughed back into making our new films:
“The Moo Man”
Small dairy farms in the UK are disappearing. Steve Hook has just 55 cows and could be an endangered species. What's more his farm produces raw milk which can't be sold in shops, so he is restricted to doorstep milk sales. Yet his farm is managing to survive and free from the supermarkets.
Steve's attitude toward his cows is exemplary and it's how we'd all like our farms to be. He milks the cows, wife Clare bottles and dad Phil does the round in the local town. But being a small farmer today is not that easy... The Moo man is our new film and we're nearly finished editing. More...
“Enemy Engagement” A documentary thriller from the days of the cold war. Two ex-friends from what was East Germany, meet up after many years. One was once a dissident, the other an informer for the Stasi. One betrayed his friend and one ended up in prison. A gripping, unsettling story of how a dictatorship like the GDR could so effectively control its population. Made by Mr Hardy co-director Heike Bachelier in German with English subtitles. More...
“A Life in Rivers”
During the making of “The Lost World of Mr Hardy” we filmed some fantastic interviews with riverkeepers on the classic chalkstreams. They opened our eyes to a new story but one which we could not fit into The Lost World of Mr Hardy. Rivers have so much fascination to us all, have changed so dramatically in recent time and still face many threats. It's a theme we would like to explore through the lives of the people who have worked and cared for our rivers.
